It is somewhat official now: Gretchen and I are relocating to Cancún. Gretchen will still be doing her same job there, just more focused on the Caribbean side of things. I’ll be doing my same stuff too, just on the beach. I’ve already had a little practice, as the picture indicates.
The plan is for both of us to fly down the last week of May to spend a long weekend looking for a house. I’ll then fly back early the first week of June to let the movers do their thing, close up shop, and then fly back out for the last time at the end of the week.
It’s going to be quite a change from life here in jolly old Mexico City; some good (less dense), some bad (hot!) and some unknown. That’s ok, as we are excited about the new experiences.
We have some friends who have already made the move from D.F. to Cancún as part of the great tourism industry migration, so we are looking forward to reconnecting with them. At the same time, we will miss our great friends here in the city. So, here’s to seeing each other soon!
